There is considerable development in precision agriculture and a significant strand of this is the reliance on high resolution and accurate data.

This two-day seminar, delivered by Malvern-based software solutions company Borwell, will give attendees an introduction into work currently being conducted in the Space sector and explore opportunities for further commercialising Space infrastructure within an agricultural or horticultural context.

It will also explore how Geographic Information Systems (GIS) could improve software tools available within the farming sector to make spatial data more useful, further allowing attendees to innovate or adapt existing products and services.

With the high level of focus on data, the bootcamp will conclude with cyber tools that will best respond to the challenges within the farming sector.

The seminar will provide:

  • An introduction into the work currently being conducted in the space sector under the Satellite Applications Catapult - a unique technology company established to transform the UK’s capability for innovation in the global space market - and to explore opportunities
  • Discuss the pros and cons of Machine Learning and AI
  • Explore how GIS (Geographic Information Systems) could improve software tools available within the farming sector
  • Look at which cyber tools will best respond to the challenges within the farming sector
