Join us for a fun and hands-on day at the newly created pond mosaic habitat at Waddesdon Manor, where we’ll be planting some of Oxfordshire’s most endangered wetland plant species – helping to restore a vital habitat and give nature a real boost.
This isn’t just about planting – you can also roll up your sleeves for pond dipping and test the water quality to discover which creatures call the wetlands home! It’s a great way to learn about the fascinating world beneath the surface.
Everyone’s welcome – bring your family and friends for a day of nature, fresh air, and friendly company. You’ll get to:
- Plant out wetland plant species and learn about habitat restoration from our expert team
- Try your hand at pond dipping and water quality testing
- Hear from Chris Leach, Head of Environmental Conservation & Biodiversity at the Rothschild Foundation about their work on the wetlands and wetland creation in partnership with Freshwater Habitats Trust
Please bring:
- A packed lunch/snack and plenty of water
- Waterproof footwear (wellingtons preferred)
- Gardening gloves
- Weather-appropriate clothing
We’ll provide extra gloves, plus all tools and equipment needed.
