Growing mobile audiences in India - Opportunities for the digital industry...
Tue 25 April 2017, 14:00 – 18:00 IST
The BBC reaches over 320m people globally every week through its range of content on TV, radio, online and digital platforms. Its World Service division, which already comprises of 28 language services around the world, is undergoing a major expansion.
As part of this expansion, the BBC’s base in New Delhi will become its biggest outside the UK, as it builds on existing services in English, Hindi and Tamil to launch TV and digital services in Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi and Telugu.
The BBC has a long and distinguished history in India and in recent years it has lead digital innovation in new story formats and platforms, including WhatsApp (during the 2014 Indian Elections) and LINE (with its Hindi Service).
