Growing up Wired: Supporting your child through adolescence

You are invited to an insightful evening designed to support parents in navigating the complex world their adolescent children are growing up in. Growing Up Wired brings together professionals, experts, and young people themselves to help parents better understand the digital and emotional challenges facing today's 10-16 year-olds.

The evening will include a presentation from Cheshire Police on online safety, providing practical advice on how to protect your child in the digital world. Visyon, the young people’s mental health service, will host a workshop on supporting emotional wellbeing. A White Ribbon Ambassador will share insights into the prevalence of gender-based abuse and crime, and how parents can encourage respectful attitudes and safe relationships.

Importantly, we will also hear directly from young people about their own lived experiences — including how they’ve navigated issues such as online bullying, misogyny, incel culture, and peer pressure.

This is a unique opportunity to listen, learn, and connect — equipping you with the tools to support your child with confidence and empathy through the challenges of adolescence.
