----------

It is the sad but devastating truth that Britain has lost half of its biodiversity over the last 50 years, with bird, insect and wildflower populations in rapid decline. But we can take action and make a difference!

Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund and the Living Lighter Project, we are in the process of creating a forest garden to expand the range of edible plants we have, as well as create and develop spaces for plants of more open habitats. This workshop will take a look around the Salisbury Centre garden at the range of plants and habitats that can be introduced into almost any garden to improve food productivity by using plants that make use of the different light conditions and layers in the garden.

We will also cover the basics of establishing a wildflower patch from seed and building a small pond to encourage more wildlife into the garden - as a garden with more biodiversity is likely to also be more attractive and productive.

This workshop is free but spaces are limited. Be sure to register on Eventbrite or email livinglighter@salisburycentre.org
