Growing Your Vision - Plants that Shape and Enhance Your Garden

In this webinar we will look at the range of plants available from small annuals to large trees.

For each type of plant, we will discuss where they might be appropriate in the garden.

We will consider how to choose plants for your garden, taking into account the situation in the garden and the purpose of the plant. We will also discuss the concept of “right plant, right place”.

We will discuss different planting styles and how to choose plants which are appropriate to different planting styles.

At the end of this webinar you will understand how to approach planting in your garden and how to make the most of the range of plant materials available.

Meet Hilary Newhall CMLI

I have worked in the landscape sector for 50 + years, including 30 + years as an award - winnning chartered landscape architect.

• Here are just a few of the diverse projects I have worked on: Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) for large and small housing projects and solar farms.
• Master plans for projects ranging from 2 high - end new build houses, to a 300 ha area with 1500 houses.
• Detailed hard materials and planting designs to accompany planning applications and to discharge planning conditions.
• My academic background: I have a landscape design honours degree; a postgraduate diploma in landscape architecture, and further study and experience to gain membership of the Landscape Institute.
• I have been teaching garden design and landscape architecture for more than 15 years.
