In 1992 he won the Best Artistic Contribution Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival for Like Water for Chocolate alongside Emmanuel Lubezki. He also won the Cannes Golden Lion for his work in commercials and was the cinematographer for Oscar-winning movie, Monster, starring Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci.Tom Walker is an actor, writer and comedian best known for playing ‘Jonathan Pie’ his brilliant satirical character creation. Pie’s ‘frustrated news reporter’ videos regularly achieve millions of views. Pie’s five national live tours have sold out venues such as the Hammersmith Apollo and the London Palladium and have been performed across the US and Australia. Recently, Pie’s work with the New York Times has gone viral internationally. The second series of Pie’s award winning BBC Sounds podcast ‘Call Jonathan Pie’ is airing at the moment to widespread critical acclaim. As an actor Tom has worked extensively in theatre. His first major role in a feature film was in Steven Bernstein’s upcoming “GRQ: The Movie ” which is why he’s been asked here tonight to talk to Steven about his novel of the same name.
