GSL Essentials (West Sussex)

This one day workshop has been designed with newly appointed Group Scout Leaders (GSL) in mind. However, we are also happy to welcome those who have been in the role for a while and would like an update, those undertaking parts of the role as an Assistant Group Scout Leader (or similar), and anyone interested in knowing more about the GSL role.
The day covers key areas of the GSL role including:
- Role of GSL
- Executives and AGM
- Managing your Group (leadership and management)
- Scouting Safely
- Support for you
- Introdction to Development planning
Dress code: This is an informal workshop so uniform is not needed. We would suggest smart casual clothing.
Bring: A note pad and pen. You will be given a copy of the 'GSL Essentials' and other supporting materials.
Refreshments: Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available at intervals during the day.
Lunch: Because of the numbers attending we are asking participants to bring a packed lunch.
