In just one day, learn how to support ALL students in your classroom, enhancing student engagement and empowering their independent learning, every day in every subject.

Learn how technology can save you time in delivering effective differentiated instruction for ALL students. Inclusive of those who are struggling, those who are mastering English as their second language and those who have “just checked out” and are disengaged.

Learn from your presenters with many years of experience in successfully using technology in their classrooms.

Kate Spragg from Auckland

The local girl - Kate is an Educational Technology Consultant who specialises in finding appropriate technology solutions for students with learning differences like dyslexia. 9.30am to 10.15am
Opening Keynote: Up, Up and Away...Literacy Support Solutions in the Cloud
Greg O'Connor

Over the last several years a paradigm shift in education has occurred. Learning has moved away from typical stand and deliver lecture, and towards more creative and collaborative environments via the internet – in the Cloud. These new environments not only promote collaboration among students and teachers, but also allow schools to explore and utilise changing technology options for students.

These technology options support a wide variety of learners, including struggling readers and writers, English Language Learners and even educators who need access to more effective strategies to implement in the classroom and beyond.
Are we ready to be up, up and away with making a difference for our students?

10.15am to 11.15am
Supporting literacy and promoting student agency for ALL learners using digital tools
Greg O'Connor

Creating learning environments that accommodate, foster and challenge ALL learners, regardless of the barriers that currently exist for them around the literacy demands of school, is an essential requirement for schools meeting the needs of ALL their students. Students can come to school defined only by their ability to read and write in english, and not by their current understandings and future aspirations. This session will provide participants with core understandings and practical strategies using digital tools to support active learners and enable them to differentiate learning opportunities and provide access to the curriculum for all.

11.15am to 12.00pm
Change or Improvement? WiFi or Wisdom? Teaching or Technology? Smart choices for educators to make.
Martin Hughes

Know Your Role - Setting Yourself (and Your Classroom) up for Success
Jason Carroll

Shakespeare once said… “All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”

Unfortunately many of us fail to write our own scripts and determine the role we want to play. Instead we take the script that’s handed to us and play our part, many times dissatisfied with the results we obtain. The good news is that classrooms today offer more potential than ever before. They include more technology, instructional supports, and resources that help level the playing field and engage all learners. But it’s up to educators to create environments that set students (and themselves) up for success.

Jason will share practical tips and best practice for creating environments that encourage implementing the many new technologies and strategies acquired throughout the day. Participants will leave inspired and encouraged knowing they have what it takes to move the ideas presented from the workshop to the classroom.

Be sure to reserve your spot today!

As a #GSuiteEduTalk attendee, you’ll also receive FREE access to several of Texthelp's edtech tools and some cool giveaways on the day!

*A light breakfast and full lunch will also be provided.
