Event description

Description

*Please ensure that you book a ticket for each person that will be attending the information session. This event will be taking place at Kensington Central Library which is a 2-minute walk from High Street Kensington Station (District & Circle lines)*

On Saturday 28th September 2019, we'll be running an information session for pupils and parents. During the session, we'll be looking at simple strategies and techniques that you can use to improve your child's grades. We will also be answering any questions you may have about our Bright Ambitions Programme and Headstart Programme.

The GT Scholars Programme is a social mobility and education charity in London. We run tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programmes designed to help young people aged 11-18, improve their grades and gain access to top universities, leading apprenticeships and competitive careers.

tutoring

We run a range of after-school programmes which include a combination of:

  • One-to-one Maths or English tutoring up to GCSE

  • Mentoring and coaching sessions

  • Skill-building days such as exam workshops and entrepreneurship challenges

  • Enrichment sessions such as visits to universities and visits to top corporations in London

These programmes are separate from your usual after-school revision and extra-curricular support which is still available at your school.

Our programmes use a multi-strategy approach which has proved to be highly effective in building confidence, improving grades and increasing motivation for young people. The majority of scholars on our programmes have improved in their tutored subject by at least 2 grades within a year of joining eg. from a 5 to a 7 or a C-grade to an A-grade.

We are open to ambitious young people living in any London borough. We have a limited number of free places on our programmes, available to young people on Free School Meals. If you are not on Free School Meals, you may be eligible for reduced fees.

During the session, you will have the opportunity to find out more about the programme and meet some of our scholars as well as our volunteer tutors and mentors.

This information session will be taking place on Saturday 28th September from 10.30am - 12.30pm at Kensington Central Library.

Please note that the number of tickets is subject to availability.
Please aim to arrive by 10.30am. We'll be starting promptly by 10.45am.
Please ensure that you book tickets for everyone attending the event so we can make adequate arrangements.

We look forward to meeting you!

GT Scholars is a not-for-profit social enterprise and registered charity. We run after-school and weekend programmes that help young people achieve their academic and career aspirations. Our programmes include tutoring, mentoring and enrichment sessions for young people aged 11-18. Contact us if you would like to know more about any of our programmes and courses.
