Aims and Objectives

This first session will explain the rules, costs, benefits and principles for end point assessment in apprenticeships, help you to understand the requirements and process for becoming professional body accredited at programme and individual level to support successful EPA, and to understand the broad parameters for becoming an End Point Assessment Organisation. All of these in turn are to enable GTA CEOs and teams to understand and consider the impact on resources, risk and opportunity for their organisation and improve success rates and aid more effective performance and a smoother implementation.

Audience - of interest to :

  • CEOs wishing to make decisions about whether to extend, expand or implement professional body membership for staff, programmes or apprentices to support preparation for EP

  • GTA trainers wishing to understand body membership requirements and application processes for themselves, for their programme and to support apprentice’s own applications

  • CEOs wishing to understand the EPA and EPA Organisation principles, rules and requirements and assess the implications of becoming an EPAO.

PLEASE NOTE: Content

  • These sessions will not provide any briefing on the content of individual EPA for any specific standard. Briefings on individual standards will be provided as part of Transition to Standards webinars or member days as assessment plans are approved and practice emerges

  • Both days are a mixture of technical input, discussions, practical exercises, GTA case studies
