Event Details

Join the Guardian’s head of sport, Will Woodward, and a panel of Guardian writers including Emma John, Kevin Mitchell, Sachin Nakrani, Suzanne Wrack and Donald McRae as they delve behind the back pages and reflect on a memorable year.

2019 has been a divisive year on the front pages, and sport has had its dark moments too. But the back pages have also been plastered with drama, heartbreak and euphoria. We’ve seen a memorable summer of cricket including England's dramatic Cricket World Cup win, Megan Rapinoe and the USA dominating the women's World Cup, Tiger Woods's stunning Masters return, Simona Halep denying Serena Williams at Wimbledon, Liverpool's triumph at the end of a thrilling Champions League campaign and the Rugby World Cup.

We’ll be getting into the nitty gritty of reporting on the major events, the changing face of women’s football and other big issues in sport. The panel will look at this year's winners and losers, heroes and villains and what we can expect in 2020.

Please arrive early to enjoy a complimentary drink.
