About this event
- Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes
Part of Theatreship's guest nights - where contemporary artists take over the ship to highlight the stories they want to tell.
In this edition, Nicole Skeltys and Bill Garrett present their recent Rock Opera Film:
Here's some more info from them:
From 2020-2023, Australian composer Nicole Skeltys worked with Australian and British musicians and actors to produce a rock opera set in London’s finance industry. The story and characters are fictional, but they are drawn from interviews Skeltys did with finance people and commentators on the industry 2019-2022, as well as other research and media stories about events that have actually happened in the finance world.
Warmly supported and endorsed by Pete Townshend, the father of the rock opera genre, this 50 minute DIY film is a visualisation of her rock opera, which she hopes will spark interest in a live performance of the show at Canary Wharf itself.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Skeltys and co-producer Bill Garrett.
