About this event
Part of Theatreship's guest nights - where contemporary artists take over the ship to highlight the stories they want to tell.
In this edition, Femmesocial Press celebrate the launch of two new works.
Here's some more info from them:
Join us for an evening of poetry, conversation, and music as we celebrate the launch of two extraordinary poetry collections: To Wake The World by Carys Maloney and a prayer book by Benedetta Mancusi.
Carys Maloney is a British working-class poet and actor. Since publishing her debut collection Dusk Before Dawn at just 18, she has continued to captivate readers with her raw and visceral language in Letters from the Barrier (2022), Across The Open Glass Field (2023), and now, To Wake The World (2025). Her poetry has appeared in publications including Acumen, Love Love Magazine, and Horizon Magazine, and she regularly performs at immersive poetry and experimental performance events across London.
Benedetta Mancusi is a London-based writer and digital marketing professional, currently pursuing a part-time MSt in Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge. Her debut collection, a prayer book, tenderly examines family, faith, and femininity through a lens shaped by her roots in Puglia. Her work has been recognised by the Heroica Poetry Prize, the Mslexia Poetry Competition, and featured in publications such as Polyester Zine, Injection Magazine, and Body Odyssey: A Poetry Anthology.
This event is not suitable for children, due to content of poetry.

Theatreship is committed to broadening access to the arts - we know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some. If the regular ticket price is beyond what you feel able to afford for whatever reason, please don't hesitate to email us at tickets@theatreship.co.uk and we will do everything we can to help, no questions asked.
We also offer arts supporter tickets, for those that can, to pay a higher price to support the venue, the artists who perform here and subsidised tickets for others.
Due to the historic nature of the ship, we’re sorry to say there is not currently step-free access into the theatre space. We have dedicated staff on hand to help with stairs, and an onsite wheelchair once you’re inside the venue. If you have any access needs, please do e-mail us at access@theatreship.co.uk.
