About this event
Part of Theatreship's guest nights - where contemporary artists take over the ship to highlight the stories they want to tell.
In this edition, we host a live event as part of the Totally Thames Festival.
Here's some more info from the organisers:
Set aboard the Theatreship in Canary Wharf, For The Lost: Sonic Waves explores the power of sound and performance as tools of documentation and transformation in creating a new archive of imagined and forgotten histories. This live programme brings together performers whose work explores our relationship with nature, myth and memory.
For centuries, the River Thames has been a boundary and a conduit, a force that divides and connects, a supporter of new life whilst also a resting place. Drifting between fact and folklore, For the Lost: Sonic Waves tunes into the river’s ancient past including drowned relics, found objects and ghostly memories. This event explores fact and myth, and forgotten and imagined histories through sonic performance and storytelling.
Performers include:
- Massimo Braghieri @massimoparamour
- Milo Thesiger-Meacham @_milotm_
- Dee Sada @deesada1
- Lorena Shapiro @upper_attic
- Omens
Once a working cargo barge bringing grain into London Docklands, the Theatreship is a new theatre and arts centre on a historic ship in Canary Wharf, London.
The performances will be recorded and broadcast on For the Lost, which is a weekly radio show presented by Dee Sada on Resonance FM.
Recommended age rating 16+

Theatreship is committed to broadening access to the arts - we know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some. If the regular ticket price is beyond what you feel able to afford for whatever reason, please don't hesitate to email us at tickets@theatreship.co.uk and we will do everything we can to help, no questions asked.
We also offer arts supporter tickets, for those that can, to pay a higher price to support the venue, the artists who perform here and subsidised tickets for others.
Due to the historic nature of the ship, we’re sorry to say there is not currently step-free access into the theatre space. We have dedicated staff on hand to help with stairs, and an onsite wheelchair once you’re inside the venue. If you have any access needs, please do e-mail us at access@theatreship.co.uk.
