About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Part of Theatreship's guest nights - where contemporary artists take over the ship to highlight the stories they want to tell.

Here's some more info from the musicians:

Shoko

Yoshida is a Japanese acid folk singer-songwriter. Her musical style is reminiscent of ancient Japanese scales and evokes grand, melancholic scenes. She layers melodies, guitars, drums, and other elements with lyrics created through the automatic vocalization of her voice. She offers everyone who listens a pleasant, temporary release and an escape from the real world, making the audience feel akin to self-therapy by interacting with the words and sounds that emerge freely from her body. She self-released her album in 2016. In 2021, she released an EP vinyl from the Japanese record label Hot Buttered Records. She is currently working on her new album.

Rogelio the IIIrd is a musician from Mexico City. When he’s not playing clarinet for stray dogs in his dystopian apartment complex he makes beats and abstract pieces mostly about god. His music is a weird continuum that draws inspiration from things like Kanye west, Folk music and Terry Riley.

Up and coming singer - songwriter KITTY is a London - Based artist
known for her "meditative, glistening perfections". Drawing from the
poetic intimacy of Sibylle Baier, Jeff Buckley and Beth Gibbons, KITTY's
pensive strings and ethereal vocals transfix audiences with her emotive performances.

Theatreship is committed to broadening access to the arts - we know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some. If the regular ticket price is beyond what you feel able to afford for whatever reason, please don't hesitate to email us at tickets@theatreship.co.uk and we will do everything we can to help, no questions asked.

We also offer arts supporter tickets, for those that can, to pay a higher price to support the venue, the artists who perform here and subsidised tickets for others.

Due to the historic nature of the ship, we’re sorry to say there is not currently step-free access into the theatre space. We have dedicated staff on hand to help with stairs, and an onsite wheelchair once you’re inside the venue. If you have any access needs, please do e-mail us at access@theatreship.co.uk.
