Event description

Description

Our guest speaker for this year’s Festival of Doctoral Research is Dr Andy Cope.

Dr Andy Cope has a tale to tell.

He has spent the last 12 years researching the science of positivity and human flourishing and in a bizarre twist of irony, his PhD in Happiness actually made him unhappy. However, his tale is also one of triumph over adversity. Andy has learned so much along the way, not just about good research practise but also about happiness, resilience, wellbeing and positive psychology.

It’s these bits he wants to share!

Whisper it quietly but he reckons it might even change your life.

The workshop uses cutting edge research to explore how you can be you, brilliantly. Imagine hit after hit with no filler? The aim is to share some of the ‘secrets’ of Positive Psychology, focusing on learning new habits of thinking and behaviour that will sustain personal ‘brilliance’. It is about the ‘whole you’ and, as such, is applicable in and out of your PhD.
