Description

Raymond Williamson will give the inaugural Western Club Evening Talk on ‘Some reflections on a career in Scottish Law’.

Raymond spent 40 years with MacRoberts where for six years he was Senior Partner. His experience has been gained from being a Council Member of The Law Society of Scotland, Convener of The Law Society’s Employment Law Committee, founding Committee Member and Vice-Chairman of The European Employment Lawyers Association. He served as Dean of The Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow and as an Employment Judge.

Raymond’s interests have also included posts directly connected with Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, National Youth Choir of Scotland, The Glasgow Art Club, Founding Chairman LAR Housing Trust, Governor at The High School of Glasgow and as Trustee of various Charitable Trusts. He served as Lord Dean of Guild of Glasgow 2013-2015.

His Talk, delivered in both an entertaining and informative manner, will cover a wide range of topics and experiences. He will share insight on significant changes that have taken place in Law and Society as well as his thoughts about the future.
