Cornell Thomas is an international speaker, five-time author, and former basketball player and coach from New Jersey and a perfect example of turning a disadvantage into an advantage. Dealing with adversity his whole life, Cornell was able to use the example of work ethic and determination given to him by his mother to overcome life’s obstacles and chase after his dream of becoming a professional basketball player. Unfortunately, a week before that dream became reality Cornell suffered a career-altering injury. With his contract terminated he had two options, drown in what if, or figure out the next chapter of his life. Cornell dove headfirst into coaching and became obsessed with leadership, specifically culture and what makes teams successful.

From there Cornell would stumble onto the path he has been on for the last nine years as a professional speaker. Tired of the negativity so prevalent throughout the world and specifically on social media, Cornell started creating his own positive quotes to help change the narrative. Eventually seeing the positive impact his quotes were having, his quotes became blogs, and then books. After his first book was published in 2013 (The Power Of Positivity) Cornell decided that he wanted to share his story all over the world.

Flash forward to today and Cornell has been all over the world not only sharing his amazing story, but also training corporations in team building, diversity and inclusion, and dealing with change. Cornell has spoken to tens of thousands of people worldwide and has been endorsed by the likes of Tony Robbins, Cornel West, and Les Brown to name a few. Cornell also conducts a professional speaker’s course online and has been the owner of Crossroads Basketball LLC for the past 15 years, which is a basketball company that trains and mentors kids from first grade to college.
