Ever wondered how dogs become Guide Dogs?

Join us for a behind-the-scenes experience of the UK’s only Breeding Centre for Guide Dogs - an unmissable opportunity to explore the fascinating journey of a guide dog from the very beginning - before they are even born. You may even get to see some of our gorgeous puppies as they eat, play, and snooze - though this is subject to mother nature and puppy availability.

During the experience, you will be placed into small groups and guided around the state-of-the-art facility by our knowledgeable team of volunteers who will be able to share with you the secrets of our life-changing dogs. You’ll also discover fascinating information about the important work of the charity – which enables people who are visually impaired to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

The tour will last approximately 2 hours and will include:

• a tour by expert guides

• possible viewing of our puppies (subject to puppy availability)

• a sensory tunnel experience and a chance to walk with mobility aids

• a demonstration of guide dog equipment such as harnesses

• a visit to our gift shop for that memorable souvenir of your visit

• teas & coffee will be provided at the end of the tour

This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for an enriching journey on your feet. There are some chairs along the route, but not in all areas of the tour.

Please keep in mind that our tour involves in-depth discussions and explanations, which might not be suitable for very young children. We want every participant to fully enjoy and appreciate the experiences, so we recommend considering the interest level of your little ones before joining us.

Dogs, with the exception of guide dogs and guide dogs in training are not allowed on the tour. If you are bringing along your guide dog or guide dog in training, please let us know beforehand.
