Description

Guide Dogs has a Puppy Helper Experience at the National Breeding Centre near Leamington Spa. The half day experience allows visitors to get hands-on, with activities including:

  • Meeting and helping us to socialise some of our puppies
  • Touring our puppy facilities and learning about their journey
  • Feeding a litter of puppies (when possible)
  • Learning about how we train our guide dogs
  • Experiencing a blindfold walk
  • Meeting a guide dog owner (subject to availability)
  • Taking a behind the scenes tour of the centre
  • Sensory Tunnel experience
  • Photo opportunities
  • Refreshments
  • Certificate and gift at the end of the session
  • Dedicated tour guides to accompany you throughout your visit
  • Group size is limited to a maximum of 6 people
  • The sessions last 3 hours
  • All participants must be aged 5 years or older
  • Anyone between the ages of 5 and 10 years must be accompanied by a responsible person, who must also have bought a ticket

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Minimum age is 5 years. Anyone between the ages of 5 and 10 years must be accompanied by a responsible person, who must also have bought a ticket. No upper age limit.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Free parking at the Centre.

For rail users a taxi will be required to get from the station (approx 15 minutes away).

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring sensible footwear. We will provide overclothing for use when meeting puppies. It is advisable to tie back hair while meeting puppies. Some elements of this Experience take place outside.

Is this Experience accessible?

Yes, it is fully wheelchair accessible. There is one small component which may not be suitable for wheelchairs, but this would not affect enjoyment of the Experience.

What's the refund policy?

To request a refund go to Tickets in your Eventbrite account no less than 30 days prior to the event for a refund. Within 30 days of the event refunds will only be given in the event of an emergency.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Proof of purchase will be required.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, tickets can be bought as presents for other people. Proof of purchase will be required.
