Guide in the Hide at Gosforth Nature Reserve

About this event

Join NHSN volunteer and long term birder James Matlock for a relaxed wildlife watching session from a hide overlooking the main lake at Gosforth Nature Reserve. James will be on hand to help you spot and identify what’s around, with recent wildlife highlights including Kingfisher, Bittern, Little Egret and Otter!

Please bring optics if possible (although some will be available to borrow), warm clothing and sturdy footwear, and perhaps a flask of something hot to enjoy during your time in the hide.

James Matlock is a NHSN volunteer, a NHSN Field Skills graduate, and Newcastle University 'Conservation and Ecosystem Management' MSc graduate where he completed his research project 'Swifts in Newcastle Upon-Tyne: Their nesting habits and success'.
