Learn to capture the beauty of the stars and the Milky Way in North Wales.
About this event
Experience and capture the night sky in some of the darkest skies in the UK. Don’t miss the opportunity to capture the Milky Way with Gareth. This will be a fantastic evening with a small group of like-minded photographers, learning to photograph the night sky with expert tuition in a friendly, helpful environment.
You will learn the following:
- How to plan an astrophotography shot
- How to utilise different apps to work out how to achieve various astro shots
- How to focus at night
- Choose the correct settings
- How to set up everything required for astrophotography
Locations
We have several locations which will be dependent on weather and tide etc. We will let you know a few days before which we will visit.
Some of the locations are:
- Llanddwyn beach or Llanddwyn
- Church in the sea, Aberffraw
- Bryn celli ddu, Llanddaniel
- Parys Mountain, Amlwch
- All of these locations are on the beautiful island of Anglesey
Please let us know if you would like to borrow or try out any equipment.
Experience level required:
Beginner to intermediate
Equipment required
- Interchangeable lens camera
- Spare batteries
- Sturdy tripod
- Wide-angle lens (preferably fast aperture, e.g., f2.8)
- Head torches (fully charged or with spare batteries, red light preferable)
Clothing required
- Warm clothes
- Coat
- Hat
- Gloves
- Walking boots
Weather conditions
If the weather is unsuitable, we will reschedule; this might be the day before or the day after, flexibility is necessary with weather conditions. We will, of course, offer a full refund if you are unable to attend the revised day.
