Guided bike ride to discover the Dartmoor Way
Sun 4 June 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
Join us on a guided bike ride led by Sustrans volunteer guides to discover the heart of Dartmoor.
Starting in Ivybridge or South Brent, we follow scenic lanes with stunning views to discover some of Dartmoor’s finest landscapes.
From secret river valleys and ancient woodlands, we cycle through little villages then climb up onto the high moors passing ancient torrs to find Dartmoor’s highest town.
The route is a circular ride of 50 miles and we climb 5,000ft. There will be several stops including for lunch.
We follow National Cycle Network Routes 2, 272 and 27 and other quiet roads to enjoy the countryside.
This ride is moderate to challenging difficulty with some steep hills. It is a circular route and we visit Buckfastleigh, Holne, Hexworthy, Princetown, Burrator, Cornwood and Harford.
Rides are open to anyone but you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared for changeable weather. A back up car will be provided
