Guided bike ride to discover the Ridge Road
Sun 9 April 2017, 10:00 – 13:00 BST
Join us on a guided bike ride led by Sustrans volunteer guides to discover one of Devon’s ridge roads.
Starting in Ivybridge or South Brent, we follow scenic lanes with stunning views looking over South Hams and Dartmoor.
We pass two iconic nature reserves, find secret river valleys, ancient woodlands and cycle through little villages. The hedgerows will be coming alive with wild flowers too.
The long route is a circular ride of 30 miles and will include a lunch stop in a pub (bring your own food). There is a short alternative of 14 miles but this does not include the ridge road.
We follow National Cycle Network Routes 2, 272 and 28 and other quiet roads to enjoy the countryside. This ride is moderate difficulty with some steep hills.
Rides are open to anyone but you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared for changeable weather.
Longer Ride: Time allowed is 5 hours. Choice of starts and finish will be at the same place:
- The Old School Community Centre, Totnes Road, South Brent, TQ10 9BP: Meet for 10am start.
