Join us for a special guided tour of the exhibition Hiç: In Pursuit of Nothingness, led personally by the curator and artist Nagihan Seymour.

This immersive exhibition explores the Sufi concept of hiç — “nothingness” through calligraphy, illumination, and ceramic art. The tour offers a unique opportunity to gain deeper insight into the philosophy, artistic processes, and spiritual reflections behind the works.

The exhibition opened on 4 November 2025 and will run until 30 November 2025, giving visitors ample time to experience its spiritual and artistic journey.

You will have the chance to experience the exhibition from the curator’s perspective and learn more about the symbolism, techniques, and narratives that shape each piece.

About the Exhibition

A spiritual journey exploring the Sufi concept of “hiç” through art.

Hiç: In Pursuit of Nothingness delves into the transformative Sufi idea of “nothingness”—a path of transcending the self to achieve harmony with the whole. The exhibition brings together calligraphy, illumination, and ceramic works by artists including:

Adam Duchy, Ayesha Ahmed, Başak Türken, Gulnaz Mahboob, Hanifi Dursun, Nagihan Seymour, Naoki Yamamoto, Osman Yılmazer, Rizwan Khan, Sacit Açıkgözoğlu, Samar Farooq, Sevil Tezgah, Sevim Çakır, Serdar Türken, Soraya Syed, and Yılmaz Turan.

Presented by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü – London, the exhibition bridges traditional Turkish arts with contemporary artistic expression and invites visitors to reflect on spirituality, mindfulness, and the search for inner peace.


About the Curator

Nagihan Seymour is a British-Turkish artist renowned for her mastery of Tezhip, miniature, and ceramics. She works from her studio in Egham, Surrey, creating intricate, gold-adorned artworks that blend centuries-old Turkish traditions with contemporary design.

Originally trained as a materials engineer, Seymour studied classical Turkish illumination in Istanbul. Her work has received multiple accolades for its technical precision and innovative approach.

She has held solo exhibitions including Reflection & Illumination, The Four Elements, The Golden Ratio, and Peaceful Mind, with her work shown at The Lightbox Gallery. Seymour has also participated in numerous group exhibitions and art fairs across the UK, showcasing her distinctive approach to traditional arts. She teaches traditional arts at museums and institutes such as David Parr Museum, Leighton House, and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü - London across the UK, and online.
