Suitable for those also seeking to increase their distance, never had the off-road experience or walked amongst a group if so, this walk will be a good place to start. We shall be starting from Shelley Farm car park off Farmhouse Way and venturing into surrounding countryside. Easy terrain some short stretches on roads, country lanes, gravel trails and across fields.
With a distance of just short of 5 miles to tackle, you will already be use to walking at least 3-4 miles minimum. By the end of this walk, which will be at a steady but consistent pace, you should feel tired but invigorated!
MEET & START POINT: At the exit of the car park. Shelley Farm Car Park, 20 Farmhouse Way, Shirley Solihull B90 4EH at 9.45am 10am departure.

Hikes start precisely at time stated. Please ensure you give yourself plenty of travel time, and time to get booted and prepare your belongings. We shall not be waiting for latecomers. Tickets are non-refundable for latecomers.
PARKING: Free of charge
TERRAIN: Mixture of flat countryside, fields, lanes, A short stretch on road. No stiles.
WHAT TO BRING
FOOTWEAR: Hiking boots/shoes are pre-requisite. Trainers or wellingtons are not suitable.
CLOTHING: Layered clothing to match weather and suitable for outdoor activity. Sports clothing ideal. Bring waterproof outwear - jacket for definite and trousers if you have them.
BAGS: Rucksack or backpack so you're handsfree to climb over stiles. Large enough to carry all your personal belongings you require for walk.
REFRESHMENTS: Fluids for hydration at least 1.5 litres and energy snacks for a short break approximately midway.
HEALTH & SAFETY
The walk leader for GetYourHikeOn is trained to national standards in accordance with the requirements of hiking with Mountain Training and is fully insured for public liability and holds Outdoor First Aid certificate. All hikes have been previously risked assessed prior to scheduling. However, as with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst GetYourHikeOn aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. GetYourHikeOn does not accept any responsibility for personal accidents, injury, for loss or damage to personal effects. It is recommended you have personal insurance to cover these risks if you have any concerns.
A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which you must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead, or lagging. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must have the necessary level of physical fitness to hike the specified distance to attend. If you have any doubt, please contact the walk leader prior to booking a ticket.

Weather
On occasions hikes may need to be cancelled due to increased health and safety risk if the weather is adverse. A full refund of ticket price will be made to those who have booked tickets for that hike.

Photographs may be taken on your hike. GetYourHikeOn reserves the right to utilise these images for promotional purposes on social media. If you do not wish to be included in any photographs, please inform walk leader at start of hike.
