Join staff from the South West Peatland Partnership for a guided walk around the recent peatland restoration works of Ockerton Court and Cranmere. We will be able to view and discuss peatland restoration methods, looking at recent work and other interventions that have had time to settle into the landscape.
There will be a chance to hear about monitoring methods used, bog-specific plant and wildlife, and to learn more about the historic environment of the area.

Distance: 5 miles. Allow 6 hours.
Meet at: Okehampton. Exact meeting location will be emailed to attendees.
Please be aware that although the walk will aim to be under 5 miles you will need a good level of fitness as we will be walking across uneven and boggy terrain which also involves some steeper walking sections. We will complete a loop route so there is also not an option to reduce the length of the walk. Ankle height walking boots or welly boots will be needed, as well as waterproof jackets and trousers. Suncream and a hat too depending on what the weather throws at us!
