Caistor Roman Project is a community archaeology group, established in 2009. Through excavation they research the origins, development and demise of the Roman town of Venta Icenorum and its surrounding area in the Tas Valley.

Their tour guides will give a 90-minute tour at Caistor Roman Town focusing on telling the story, the history and archaeology of the site.

Is there car parking on site?

Yes, there is a car park at the site, parking fees are applicable. 90 minutes cots £2.00, 3 hours is £3.00 and you can park all day for £5.00

Can I bring my dog

Dogs on leads are welcome at the site at all times. Please keep the lead short whilst partaking in the guided tour.

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

With regret this site is a Heritage Monument, which includes steps, slopes and rough ground.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Tour Guides are trained in how to make each tour relevant to the audience. Under 16's can join the tour free of charge.

Where do we meet?

The Tour Guide will meet with you in the car park underneath the gazebo which is directly opposite the car park entrance.
