Guided Walk - Brigantium & Bremenium Forts & Camps
Sun 30 April 2017, 10:30 – 14:00 BST
Join our guided walk to Brigantium & Bremenium Forts & Camps.
We start at the (now derelict) reconstructed roundhouse on the site of Brigantium Fort and climb gently to the ramparts of the fort of Bremenium which now forms the village of High Rochester.
Circling the fort we continue steadily upwards to the viewpoint at Ridley Crag and then head west to the location of a number of Roman marching camps. We march up Dere Street, literally in the footsteps of the Romans, towards the boundary now patrolled by the modern army, before returning past the site of further camps to our starting point.
