About
Join us for a stroll through this majestic pinewood, part of Scotland’s rainforest. Learn all about the wood and it’s inhabitants and find out more about the work The Woodland Trust Scotland is doing on the estate.
The walk will last for approximately 1 ½ hours and is on pathless terrain will a short steep climb at the start so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
Booking
This event is free but booking is encouraged to help us manage numbers and the limited parking.
Meeting
We will be meeting by the Applecross Junction near Shieldaig (IV54 8XJ). To find us, take the Applecross turn-off just south of Shieldaig village and take the first turn on the right around 100m after the junction. The exact what3words location for parking is ///dormant.snooping.influence. One of the team will be there to open the gate at 10.15am and direct parking.
Access
The route is rough without paths and has a short steep climb at the start, although short it is strenuous in places.
Facilities
The nearest toilets and facilities are in Shieldaig village, a 5 mins drive away.
Extra things to know
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for spending time outdoors. Good waterproofs, walking boots and warm layers are advised. Please bring any insect repellent and suncream if necessary also any refreshments you may need.
Well behaved dogs welcome.
Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
