Guided Walk - The Bastles of Tarsetdale
Wed 31 May 2017, 10:30 – 15:30 BST
Our walk begins by visiting some of the best wildflower-rich traditional hay meadows in the county.
We then turn our attention to the history of this wild region, visiting a church with connections to the Napoleonic wars, an 18th Century dovecote and a bastle (a fortified farmhouse) whose tranquil setting belies its violent past in the days of the Border Reivers.
