Event description

Description

At this time of year the Forest is home to scores of birds that migrate south to escape the snow and ice that covers their feeding grounds in the frozen north. Led by Aaron from the forestry team, we are happy to invite you to come and identify which feathered winter visitors can be found in the Heart of England Forest

Enticed by the plentiful seeds, berries and insects, expect to see a variety of different species including hopefully, pasterines, redwings, fieldfare and redpoll. Learn about the migration routes these birds take and how the Heart of England Forest is supporting bird life through the year. Just don't forget your binoculars.

While we do not set a ticket price for this event we kindly request that a minimum donation of £5.00 per adult is made. This will allow us to cover any costs and continue with our work and offering these guided walks through the Heart of England Forest. Free parking will be available on the day.

Please remember to bring comfortable waterproof footwear, as whilst it’s an easy going walk the ground is uneven and could be wet and muddy. Also remember to bring some drinking water and dress appropriatly for whatever the weather demands!

Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs on leads are welcome.

By registering for this event you are agreeing to us contacting you by email or phone to advise you of any further event information, changes to the event or post-event feedback.
