Guided Walk: Woodlands & Wildlife
Sat 20 May 2017, 10:00 – 12:00 BST
Enjoy a morning walk through the Dorsington woodlands with our Chief Executive, Beth Brook and learn about the largest woodland creation scheme in the country. Beth is a wildlife enthusiast and her knowledge covers an array of species that call the Heart of England Forest their home.
As you stroll find out how the native trees we plant encourage a variety of insects, birds, mammals and more - hopefully spot orange tip butterflies, tadpoles in the pond, damselfly, fledgling birds and listen out for a green woodpecker. Learn how we are helping, with the planting, management and creation of a variety of habitats to establish a diverse ecology across the whole forest.
Beth’s enthusiasum is infectious and she will be happy to answer your questions on all aspects of the woodland and its wildlife as you explore.
While we do not set a ticket price for this event we kindly request that a minimum donation of £4.00 per adult is made. This will allow us to cover any costs and continue with our work and offering these guided walks through the Heart of England Forest.
Free parking on the day will be available in the farmyard at Collett's Farm, CV37 8AU.
The walk will last around two hours – please remember to bring comfortable walking shoes as whilst it’s an easy going walk the ground is uneven in some places. Also remember to bring some water and a warm, waterproof jacket if the weather demands!
Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs kept on leads are welcome.
