Sat 20 May 2017, 10:30 – 13:00 BST
Guided Walking Tour
Join Letchworth's Town Historian on a pleasant stroll through some of the highlights of the first Garden City's history. Our gentle walking route is punctuated with stops where we can dig deeper into the history of certain buildings.
Starting at the Tourist Information Centre, on Station Road, this tour takes in Parks and Gardens, Cheap Cottages, hidden gems and the Spirella Building (where there are WCs) and ends up at The International Garden Cities Exhibition, where you can enjoy free hot drinks and discover more about the history of Letchworth, Ebenezer Howard, and the Garden City Movement - and its legacy across the world.
The walking tour should take approximately 2-2.5 hours.
You can park for FREE every weekend at The Spirella Building, just a short walk from the town centre:
There is a small amount of walking on grass/uneven ground - you should wear sensible footwear if possible.
Includes FREE FairTrade tea & coffee at the Exhibition at the end of the tour.
