Guild Big Day Out 2013
Description
The Guild Big Day Out 2013 organised by Rockingham
Held in association with Nissan, Ford, Kia, Mitsubishi and Automotive PR
What? Affordable track day fun from the Guild of Motoring Writers for 100 automotive journalist professionals and aspiring motoring writers, organised by Rockingham Motor Speedway
When? August 22
Where? Rockingham
How much? Members £45; Non Members £65
Why? The idea behind the day is for automotive journalists, bloggers and tweeters to get together in relaxed surroundings and show off their own cars, while networking with fellow professionals - oh, and get to drive the famous Rockingham circuit at speed too.
Who's there? Ford, Nissan, Kia and Mitsubishi will have a selection of cars for attendees to drive both on and off the track. A full list of what will be there will be circulated nearer the date (list subject to change), but at present it looks like this:
- Ford – Sony PlayStation Gran Turismo race pods, Focus ST estate, Fiesta ST, Fiesta 1.0 Zetec S, Kuga and Mustang GT500
- Kia – Reasonably Priced Kia Cee’ds, Kia Pro Cee’d
- Nissan – Nissan Juke Nismo, Nissan GT-R (passenger rides)
- Mitsubishi – Lancer 1974, Lancer Turbo 1981, Evo Tommi Makinen Edition, Evo X FQ400, new Outlander, Willy’s Jeep 1979
But most importantly...
YOU can be there, with your own car and a circuit full of like-minded automotive journalist professionals, to take to the track and have a blast.
The price includes refreshments upon arrival and a hog roast lunch. The day starts at 8am with registration, the track opens at 9am and closes at 5pm.
Members pay £45 and your membership details will be checked alongside the booking by the general secretary.
Non-members, who have an active interest in motoring journalism, are also welcome. These can be motoring tweeters, motoring bloggers, aspiring journalists or even existing motoring writers who aren’t currently members of the Guild.
The cost for non-members is £65. Filling in your details and paying for your place doesn’t guarantee you a place. The Guild will be vetting all non-member applicants and will contact those who have successfully secured a place within 24 hours of their payment being received.
It is strongly advised you organise Track Day Insurance for the event as your road cover will not be applicable. You need to bring your full driving licence with you on the day and will have to wear a helmet on the track.
Cars must be your own (no manufacturer press cars other than those supporting the event will be allowed on the circuit) and must have a valid MOT. The noise limit is 98db.
