• Date: 12th January - 23rd March (excluding 16th Feb)
• Sessions: Weekly, Mondays -3.15 pm - 4.15 pm
• Venue: Mansfield Central Library, Four Seasons Centre, W Gate, Mansfield NG18 1NH
• For ages: Adults and Families wishing to learn together. All young people under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
• Group size: 6 - 13
• Cost: £39.38 per term ( We aim to deliver a minium of 10 sessions per term, if the number of lessons fall below this due to Inspire Music Teacher absence, refunds will apply. We are unable to refund for participant absence)

About this course

This is a practical, introductory course to playing the guitar (acoustic or electric) in a group setting. Suitable for complete beginners or those who have not picked up a guitar in a long time, we will start with the basics and develop to play a range of songs and musical exercises.

This course is suitable for those with no previous experience, starting with the absolute basics of -

- String names

- Playing ‘open’ strings

- Learning about and playing to the beat / pulse

- Fretting notes

- Leaning about and playing very simple melodies

- Learning and playing chord shapes

- Beginner strumming / rhythm guitar playing exercises using the above chord knowledge
