Guru Program: Show me the money - Startup Finance #TMUguru
Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (GMT)
London, United Kingdom
This session is part of the TechMeetups Guru Program, a practical 3 month educational and mentoring course to kick-start your Startup. You can choose to attend just this session by booking here, or participate in the full course to receive additional support and mentoring for your company from our Gurus – find out more here.
The decision of taking your startup from early-stage to venture-backed will change the dynamics of pretty much everything in your company. This session will equip you with an understanding of the funding model that are available to startups from crowdfunding and grants to angel investment and venture capital.
Aside from providing you pointers on what Investors look for when evaluating an opportunity, our Gurus will also help you with the following questions:
How do you decide when you’re ready to seek investment?
How do you make the most of your time with prospective investors?
How will the dynamics in your company change with increased investment?
Jeff Lynn, Co-founder and CEO at Seeders
I’ve mentored for several other startup programmes including Wayra, EntrepreneurFirst, NACUE and TechHub particularly on equity crowdfunding and seed-stage finance. I get the space and am keen to ensure entrepreneurs know the facts about crowdfunding and their options.

What is TechMeetups?
TechMeetups has been setup to create a global network of Tech communities from San Francisco to Sydney. We believe that Tech communities are isolated and great things can be achieved if we connect within our cities and outside our borders. Our goal is to create a global Tech cluster of over 50 inter-connected Tech communities by 2015.
Our global community started out with the launch of the London Silicon Roundabout Tech community in December 2010. Following it's success in becoming one of the city's fastest growing groups, we have launched TechMeetups communities in the following locations:
Europe: London, Berlin, Cambridge, Lisbon, Moscow, Manchester, Paris, Budapest, Belgrade, Amsterdam,Stockholm, Dublin, Munich, Edinburgh, Hamburg, Vienna & Barcelona
USA: New York, Dallas, Miami & San Francisco
Asia: Bangalore, Bangkok, Mumbai & Singapore
Others : Dubai, Sydney, Rio De Janeiro & Sao Paulo
