Glossary:

Sandpit is a collaborative, intensive, and often multi-day workshop designed to bring together a diverse group of researchers and stakeholders to:

-Generate innovative ideas

-Develop new research proposals

-Tackle complex, interdisciplinary challenge

Writing retreat is a dedicated period of time, with facilitation, where individuals or groups focus intensely on writing.

Sandpit details

•2 x £2-3K award

•£1,000 mini PhD grant

•Review panel external to GW4 to judge to ensure fairness and transparency

•Final allocation on each award subject to expert review panel, award made during the event

Eligibility

Research must take place in Southwest England and Wales (GW4)

Institutions external to the GW4 region is very welcome to attend, and join bids with GW4-based researchers. However, only GW4 researchers can be PI fo the mini projects - this is a funder requirement

Funded project team to produce end-of-project report by 01 Feb 26

Cost

We have budget to pay travel and accomodation cost for 12 participants
