Erbyn diwedd y gweithdy dylech fod .... Erbyn diwedd yr hyfforddiant bydd gan fyfyrwyr well dealltwriaeth o sut i fesur yn gywir ar gyfer drafftio patrymau, sut i plotio'r mesuriadau hynny i ddrafftio patrwm a sut i ddatrys problemau ffitio/gwneud addasiadau i'r patrymau hynny.

Beth ddylech chi ddod â chi gyda chi.

Bydd angen i fyfyrwyr wisgo dillad tyn fel eu bod yn gallu cymryd mesuriadau cywir o'i gilydd. Os nad ydynt yn gyfforddus cael eu mesuriadau neu gymryd rhai rhywun arall byddant yn rhoi mesuriadau corff generig i weithio ohonynt.

Pattern Drafting workshop

28th June 2025, 10:00 - 15:00

This course is for anyone working in the costume department either in TV, Film or Theatre. We welcome beginners who are interested in the foundations of flat pattern-drafting.

Aim of the Session

To enable students to draft basic bodice and sleeve pattern blocks to custom measurements.

By the end of the workshop ....
You will have a better understanding of how to measure accurately for pattern drafting, how to plot those measurements to draft a pattern and how to fix fitting issues/make adjustments to those patterns.

What you should bring with you.

A pencil, 30cm ruler, a notebook and a fabric tape measure and a folder for taking home any worksheets or information sheets from the lesson

What you need to prepare
The students will need to wear close fitting clothing so they are able to take accurate body measurements of each other. If they are uncomfortable having their measurements taken or taking someone else’s they will be give generic body measurements to work from.

Mae Tasha Middleton yn artist tecstilau, dylunydd gwisgoedd, ac addysgwr sy'n gweithio ar draws ymarfer stiwdio, cynyrchiadau sgrin, a dysgu oedolion. Mae ei gwaith creadigol yn cyfuno archwilio deunydd â dylunio naratif, yn aml yn tynnu ar lên gwerin, hanes diwylliannol, a thechnegau tecstilau traddodiadol. Mewn ffilm a theledu, mae hi'n arbenigo mewn dylunio a goruchwyliaeth gwisgoedd, gyda ffocws ar arweinyddiaeth tîm, parhad, ac adrodd straeon trwy ddillad.

Ochr yn ochr â'i gwaith mewn gwisgoedd, mae gan Tasha gefndir cryf mewn addysgu. Mae hi wedi rhedeg ei hysgol gwnïo ei hun, wedi dysgu dylunio gwisgoedd ar lefel prifysgol, yn darparu hyfforddiant ar gyfer adrannau gwisgoedd proffesiynol, ac yn dod â'i phrofiad yn y diwydiant i'r ystafell ddosbarth fel athrawes ysgol uwchradd. Mae ei sesiynau'n glir, yn ymarferol ac wedi'u seilio ar brofiad y diwydiant, gan gwmpasu popeth o ddrafftio patrymau a drapio i ddatrys problemau ar y set a thrin deunydd creadigol.


Trainer
Tasha Middleton is a textile artist, costume designer, and educator working across studio practice, screen productions, and adult learning. Her creative work blends material exploration with narrative design, often drawing on folklore, cultural history, and traditional textile techniques. In film and television, she specialises in costume design and supervision, with a focus on team leadership, continuity, and detail-driven storytelling through clothing.

Alongside her work in costume, Tasha has a strong background in teaching. She has run her own sewing school, taught costume design at university level, delivers training for professional costume departments, and brings her industry experience into the classroom as a secondary school teacher. Her sessions are clear, practical, and grounded in industry experience, covering everything from pattern drafting and draping to on-set troubleshooting and creative material handling.
