Gwent Child Development Event

Gwent has a strategic ambition to give every child the best start in life. This event aims to bring together early years leaders and practitioners from Gwent to discuss child development.

We know that supporting children with their development in the early years is a team effort, with parents/carers, early years programmes and settings and schools all playing a key role. The event aims to explore how we can work together to achieve the best outcomes for all children in Gwent.

There will be an opportunity to share views and experiences, discussing which parts of the system are working well, what could be strengthened and how we can collectively best support child development.

The event will consider how we best enable and prepare children and their parents/carers for the transition into reception and what support and resources would benefit families, with a particular focus on those experiencing poverty and from under-served groups.
