Event description

Description

Future Cities Catapult is partnering with Innovate UK and Enterprise Europe Network to hold a workshop to collaborate with SMEs to answer the H2020 SME Instrument and Fast Track to Innovation funding.

What is the SME instrument and Fast track to Innovation in the H2020 programme?

Horizon 2020 funds high-potential innovation developed by SMEs through the SME instrument and Fast Track to Innovation funding. With € 1.6 billion in funding over the period 2018-2020, the SME Instrument will support ground breaking innovative ideas for products, services or processes that are ready to conquer global markets. Fast Track to Innovation has a budget of €300 million for bottom-up proposals for close-to-market innovation activities in any area of technology or application.

These streams of funding support high-risk, high-potential SMEs to develop and bring to market new products, services and business models that could drive economic growth. However, SMEs must go through evaluation by a multination panel of technology, business and finance experts before being selected for the funding and coaching.

Why attend the workshop?

Future Cities Catapult want to collaborate with SMEs to increase the success of the funding process to drive the UK Urban sector economy.

On 2 July Future Cities Catapult, Innovate UK and the EEN are inviting SMEs to a 2 hour workshop at the Urban Innovation Centre to hear more about the funding, the opportunities to collaborate and tips on how to apply.

The aim of this workshop is to present how these 3 different organisations can assist SMEs, present the two funding programs, give tips on applications and ultimately provide insight into future collaborations between SMEs and Future Cities Catapult.

Who Should Attend?

The event is open to SMEs who are working in Advance Urban Services (AUS). Advanced Urban Services are urban services that use advanced technologies to make cities more efficient, sustainable, inclusive and resilient for citizens. If you have product, process or a service that is TRL 6 or above and is ready for market introduction on a European scale then we would like to meet you at this workshop!
