Event description
The H2FC SUPERGEN Research Conference returns for 2022

About this event

Join us 8 – 9 June 2022 at the University of St Andrews for our first in-person research conference since 2020, bringing together hydrogen and fuel cell researchers to discuss the latest topics in the field

Our distinguished plenary speakers include:

  • Dr Qiong Cai, University of Surrey – her research focuses on multi-scale materials design for energy conversion and storage applications including electrolysis hydrogen production, fuel cells, batteries, and CO2 conversion.
  • Sara Walker, Newcastle University – is Professor in Energy, Director of The Centre for Energy, in the School of Engineering, and UKRI Hydrogen Systems Research Challenges Co-ordinator. Her research is on energy efficiency and renewable energy at the building scale.
  • Anthony Kucernak, Imperial College London and co-founder of hydrogen start-up Bramble Energy – brings his extensive experience across aspects of solid polymer electrolyte fuel cells, supercapacitors, and the design of new electrochemical techniques.
  • Tim Mays, University of Bath, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment, H2FC Supergen Hub Co-director and UKRI Hydrogen Research Challenges Co-ordinator.

Our full conference programme and final speakers will be confirmed soon.

Research Presentations

PhD students and early career researchers, along with academics and industrialists are invited to present their research as part of our parallel sessions.

Research Themes will cover:

  • Theme 1: Hydrogen Production
  • Theme 2: Electrolysis
  • Theme 3: Hydrogen Storage
  • Theme 4: Fuel Cells
  • Theme 5: Hydrogen/Fuel Cell Systems and Applications
  • Theme 6: Hydrogen Safety
  • Theme 7: Policy, economic and social aspects of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell technologies
  • Theme 8: Other Hydrogen

If you wish to present, please provide a 300 – 400 word abstract detailing your research in one of the following themes. The deadline for submission is 5 pm on Friday 13 May 2022.
