HABERDASHERY NEEDLECASE WITH HENS TEETH

A celebration of stitch!
Using, time worn textiles learn to hand stitch and embellished a needle case. Emphasis will be placed on the layering of time worn fabrics, laces and haberdashery for an interesting textural base. We will then explore hand embroidery and appliqué for more surface texture and colour.
To make the piece more personal, bring along your own imagery, textiles, fabrics, haberdashery etc.
What students will need:
A sewing kit
Embroidery, paper and sewing scissors
Paper or textile imagery.
Assorted linens, cottons, scraps, favourite fabrics (small scale).
Worn, torn textiles and laces.
Vintage haberdashery i.e. hooks and eyes, tape measures and buttons
Old quilt or patchwork pieces.
