On 14th May, come hack Worthing Library.
From film nights to yoga, toy lending to massage, Worthing Library is already home to some surprising things. How else can we think differently about our library?
West Sussex County Council is partnering with FutureGov to host a day-long re-imagining of how Worthing Library could offer even more to our local residents. This isn't about buying new books or opening on Sundays -- it's about generating ideas for how the local community can do new and interesting things alongside everything the library already has to offer.
As residents of Worthing, you know better than anyone how we can best use Worthing Library as a public space and to provide a high quality customer experience. So whether you're a library lover, a designer, or just someone who wants to learn more, we hope you'll take part.
We'll spend the day moving from ideas to research to design, and end by pitching projects to a Dragon's Den panel of judges from the community. Everyone who comes along will make connections and learn new ways to turn creative ideas into solutions that work. A few teams will even get support from our Dragons to help make their ideas a reality.
Here's a rundown of the day:
9:30 - 10:00: Arrival/coffee/breakfast
10:00 - 10:30: Welcome and introductions
10:30 - 10:45: Idea pitches and forming teams

12:30 - 1:30: Lunch

The event is free and and everyone aged 14 and older is welcome. We'll provide breakfast, lunch, and coffee throughout the day.
