Creating a knittable file

The principles and practice of turning photos into knitting charts. Also creating designs from scratch and from algorithms. Followed by lunch.

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Individual projects

Design and make a small item from your own photo or other source.

This event is perfect for machine knitters looking to explore the intersection of technology and traditional crafts. The workshop will cover two approaches to using domestic knitting machines with digital images. We will cover the creation of suitable files and you will design and make a small piece to take home.

With only two participants per workshop you can be sure of personal attention and a student centred approach. There is an agenda for the day below for guidance but the timings are flexible.

Yarn will be provided and all tools will be available.
