HACKED OFF’S 6TH ANNUAL LEVESON LECTURE

*UPDATE* Tickets have sold out at record speed! Please join the waiting list and we will contact you if a place becomes available.

Join us on Monday 26th November 2018 for our 6th Annual Leveson Lecture in Central London.

The lecture, entitled “Democracy in Crisis: Brexit & The Rise of Fake News” is to be delivered by British journalist, television presenter, author and broadcaster James O’Brien. James follows in the footsteps of previous speakers Baroness Warsi, Rt Hon Tom Watson MP, Sir Vince Cable MP, David Yelland, and Jo Brand.

A controversial figure at the forefront of the Brexit debate, James has also been an outspoken critic of some elements of the press’ handling of the issues at stake in the EU referendum.

While the press should always be free to campaign and editorialise, some newspapers published clear inaccuracies in the run to the referendum, with no independent press self-regulator existing to ensure the record was adequately recorded before the vote.

Likely coinciding with the crucial week of the Brexit Bill’s passage through Parliament, we anticipate that this will be an extremely sought after event and tickets are likely to go very fast.

Doors open to bar: 18:30
