Get ready to unleash your inner techie at the Hacker Battlebots Build-A-Bot event! Join us at W5 Life in Belfast, UK for an electrifying day of robot building. 🔧🤖

Whether you're a seasoned builder or just curious about robotics and all things RC, this in-person event is the perfect opportunity to dive into the exciting world of battlebot creation with experts to help guide you!

Don't worry if you're new to the game – we are here to help and at the event you will get a bot building kit which will have everything you need to have a working bot, the kit will include:

- Motors

- Wheels

- Chassis

- Armor

- Motor ESC

- Receiver

- Transmitter

- Fittings

Don’t worry if you’ve never built a bot before—this day is all about learning, experimenting, and having a blast. We’ll walk you through the whole process, and by the end of the day, you’ll have a bot ready to battle it out in some friendly (but fierce) competitions.

Come join the fun, build something awesome, and maybe even take home some serious bragging rights.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an age limit?

No! all ages welcome, though anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There will be soldering and some sharp tools to cut wires so its not ideal for young children but we have had people of all ages come and take part.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself! We’ll provide all the tools and materials you need, including a complete bot-building kit. You’re welcome to bring any personal tools if you prefer, but it’s not necessary.

What’s included in the bot-building kit?

Your kit will have everything you need to build a functioning BattleBot, including: Motors Wheels Chassis Armor Motor ESC Receiver Transmitter Fittings

Do I need to have experience with robotics or RC to participate?

Not at all! We’ll guide you through the entire process, from understanding the parts to assembling your bot. It’s a great opportunity to learn and have fun.

What happens after I build my bot?

Once your bot is assembled, you’ll get to test it out in some friendly competitions with other participants. It’s all about fun and learning, with a bit of friendly rivalry! Then of course take it home and improve it!

How long is the event?

The event runs from 10am to 5pm. It’s a full day of building, battling, and connecting with fellow bot enthusiasts.

What if I have questions during the event?

We’ll have experts on hand to help you with any questions or challenges you might face during the build. We’re here to ensure you have a great time!

How do I sign up?

You can sign up through our Eventbrite page. The cost is £60, which includes all materials and a full day of fun.

Farset Labs is a makerspace that provides a hub of creativity, technological innovation and entrepreneurship for local professionals, students and interested hobbyists in Belfast City Centre.
