Be Part of Hackney’s Future – HYP Hustings 2025
Are you 13–19 and live, work, or go to school/college in Hackney? This is YOUR chance to have a say in who represents you in the Hackney Youth Parliament (HYP) for the next two years!
We have ten candidates running to be the next leaders of Hackney Youth Parliament, a group that advocates on behalf of all young people in the borough.
At this husting event, our candidates will take to the stage and demonstrate why you should vote for them. Expect to see their video manifestos, have an opportunity to ask the candidates questions and get ready to vote!
Join us on Wednesday 8th October, 17:30 – 19:30, for the HYP Hustings – where you’ll get to:

✨ Hear directly from the young people running to be your HYP leaders
✨ Find out what they care about and what they plan to change
✨ Get ready to cast your vote when voting opens the next day
This is your opportunity to make sure the voices shaping Hackney’s future reflect what YOU want to see in your schools, youth hubs, and community.
Parents, guardians, staff, and council members with an interest in Hackney’s youth voice are also warmly invited to attend and see the pledges first-hand.
