HACT and the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) would like to invite you to a roundtable to consider how EFDS’s Inclusive Community Training, delivered in partnership with Sainsbury’s, Sport England and Sports Coach UK, could help supported housing providers to engage their disabled residents in physical activity and give them the tools to take a decisive role in their wellbeing.
EFDS are a charity that aim to make disabled people active for life and provide the Inclusive Community Training programme as part of their support for organisations seeking to help people with disabilities to become and stay more active. It is aimed at people like support workers, health care professionals, carers, parents and volunteers and can be delivered to a range of organisations or in-house. EFDS approach disability from a broad perspective and this training programme is relevant for organisations working with people with different types of disabilities.
HACT is really excited about the opportunuity to bring this Inclusive Community Training to the housing sector, and to supported, sheltered and Extra Care housing staff in particular, equipping them with the skills and resources to help their residents be more active.
The roundtable is a chance for interested organisations to find out more about what EFDS can offer and to help shape the roll out of this training across the sector.
Join us on 13th of December, 2.30pm and 5pm at the Lumen United Reformed Church, 88 Tavistock Pl, Kings Cross, London WC1H 9RS. We will also provide a light lunch and refreshments.
